Just For Fun Tokens ๐Ÿฅญ

Not every token needs to become the next big project. Sometimes a token is just a fun way to learn, play and build with friends.

What is a Just For Fun Token?

  • Friends group token

Small tokens for private friend groups, events and experiments.

  • Poker night token

Use tokens as points or chips during poker nights.

  • Football pool token

Track predictions and scores with custom community tokens.

  • School or learning project

Learn how Solana tokens work without creating a public project.

  • Community points

Reward activity and participation inside a community.

  • Game or challenge token

Create points, rewards or collectibles for games and events.

Do you need liquidity?

You probably DON'T need liquidity if:

  • The token is only for friends
  • You are learning how tokens work
  • It is used as play money
  • It is used for a football pool or poker night
  • It is not meant for public trading
  • You are not promising profit or investment value

You MAY need liquidity if:

  • You want people to trade the token publicly
  • You want price discovery
  • You want outside investors or buyers
  • You are building a real project around the token
  • You understand the risks and responsibilities

Step 1: Create a Wallet

Your wallet is where you hold tokens. For just-for-fun projects, start small, learn the basics, and never put more in than you are comfortable experimenting with.

Option A โ€” Recommended for beginners

Create a wallet in a trusted app

The easiest way to start is with a well-known Solana wallet app. Download one, create a new wallet, and follow the on-screen steps.

  • Wallets are free to create.
  • You will receive a recovery phrase โ€” usually 12 or 24 words.
  • Write your recovery phrase down and store it somewhere safe offline.
  • Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Anyone who has it can control your wallet.

Option B โ€” For fun / vanity wallets

Create a custom vanity address

If you want a wallet address that starts with a specific word, you can use the CBS Wallet Generator at wallet.cbs-coin.com.

Vanity wallets let you hunt for addresses with custom prefixes โ€” for example:

  • MANGO
  • CBS
  • FUN
  • Vanity wallets are optional โ€” not required to create a token.
  • Mostly used for fun, branding and collecting cool addresses.
  • Generation can take time depending on how short the prefix is.
  • Keep your backup file private, just like a recovery phrase.

Step 2: Create Your Token

Once you have a wallet, you can mint a simple token using the CBS Token Builder. No coding required โ€” just fill in the fields below with plain language names and numbers.

  • Token Name

This is the full public name of your token โ€” what people see in wallets and explorers.

    Examples

    • Fun Coin
    • Poker Chip
    • Football Pool Token
    • Friends Club
  • Symbol

A short ticker shown next to your token in wallets and on block explorers. Keep it brief โ€” usually 3 to 6 characters.

    Examples

    • FUN
    • POKER
    • GOAL
    • FRIEND
  • Decimals

Decimals determine how divisible your token is โ€” how small a piece someone can hold.

    • 0 = whole numbers only (like counting points)
    • 9 = standard Solana token format (most flexible)

Recommendation: use 9 decimals for most tokens.

  • Initial Supply

The total number of tokens created at the start. You can always send them to friends later โ€” this is just how many exist on day one.

    Examples

    • 1000
    • 100000
    • 1000000

Token Logo Tips

A clear logo helps your token look polished in wallets and explorers. It is optional, but worth a few minutes if you want friends to recognize it instantly.

Recommended

  • PNG format
  • Square image
  • 512ร—512 pixels
  • Transparent background preferred

Avoid

  • Blurry images
  • Screenshots
  • Small images
  • Stretched images

A good logo improves how your token appears in wallets and explorers โ€” especially when you share it with friends who have never seen it before.

Metadata Guide

Metadata is the public information attached to your token. Think of it as the label on the outside of the box โ€” it tells people what they are looking at before they interact with it.

Metadata typically includes:

  • Token name
  • Symbol
  • Description
  • Logo

You can create a token first and add or update metadata later using metadata tools on CBS โ€” no need to get everything perfect on the first try.

Just For Fun Examples

Here are a few realistic ways people use simple tokens โ€” no liquidity, no roadmap, just something useful or fun for a small group.

  • Football Pool Token

Create 1000 tokens and give participants tokens based on match predictions. Winners collect points over the season โ€” no real money needed.

  • Poker Night Token

Use tokens as chips for a friendly poker night. Everyone starts with the same amount and trades tokens during the game instead of cash.

  • Friends Club Token

Reward friends with points for events, inside jokes, or weekly challenges. A light way to keep score in a private group chat.

  • Learning Token

Create your first token simply to learn how Solana works โ€” mint it, send a few to yourself, and explore without any pressure to launch a project.

Important reminder

Ready for something bigger?

If your fun token grows into a serious project later, you can explore more advanced tools when you are ready โ€” without needing them from day one.

When the time comes, builders often look at:

  • Token Launcher
  • Token Locker
  • LP Locker

There is no rush. Learn with a small fun token first, understand how everything works, and only move forward when it makes sense for your project.
